Dennis Schaffner
A Boise native and third generation builder, Dennis brings more than 30 years experience in the finance industry, government, home design, construction, and remodeling.
Dennis, along with his brother Gary, has operated Schaffner Signature Homes for25 years. Schaffner Signature Homes has grown into one of the most respected home builders in the Treasure Valley by focusing on long-standing relationships with trade partners, quality craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service. This combination earned them a number of awards, and the designation as a Registered Master Builder.
As a former executive director of the Ada County Highway District, Dennis garnered experience in transportation related issues and planning. Prior to this position, Dennis was with First Security Bank.
Dennis continues to be active in the home building industry and was the 2007 President of the Building Contractor’s Association of Southwest Idaho comprised of over 700 members. He also sits on several industry boards including; Building Contractor’s Association of Southwest Idaho, Idaho State Contractor’s Association, Chairman of theRegistered Master Builders Board, and the National Association of Home Builders. Dennis was selected as BCA Builder of the Year in 2008.
Dennis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Idaho.
Gary Schaffner
Gary is a Boise native and third generation builder. Prior to the formation of Schaffner Signature Homes, with his brother Dennis, Gary had his own commercial and industrial masonry contracting business for 23 years. He was responsible for estimating, contract negotiations, and on-site construction supervision. The kinds of projects Gary built included public schools, churches, office buildings, Federal and State buildings, auto dealerships, and the Canyon County jail.
He has also been active in the building industry and was instrumental in the establishment of the Masonry Contractors Bid Depository for the coordination of bidding for all masonry projects in the Treasure Valley area. Gary also served as president of the Masonry Contractors of Southwest Idaho, through which he helped establish the masonry apprentice program in conjunction with Boise State University.
Gary is responsible for all home building field operations; including supervision, scheduling, and interaction with the homebuyers during the construction process and oversees all customer service after the sale.
Terri Schaffner
Terri and Dennis have been married for 25 years. Terri has actively been involved in the homebuilding business for over 20 years. Prior to joining the home building company, Terri owned her own business which she operated successfully for ten years and she was a licensed realtor. Terri’s primary responsibilities now include interior and exterior design, finish and décor material specifications and overseeing installation. Our company builds our homes from a woman’s perspective, therefore Terri’s insight, thoughtfulness and overall coordination of this extremely important aspect of our company allows us to cohesively harmonize and blend our overall design with the construction process. She is widely recognized for her talents and has been the driving force behind company Parade of Homes awards over the ten years; Awards include: Best over all in our class; First place: best interior design; best interior finish; best master suite; best kitchen; best decorated; and best exterior finishes.
Brett Aeschbacher
A Boise native and second generation builder, Brett brought more than 10 years of millwork and cabinet design experience to the company. Brett worked for the Lloyd lumber Company and built several homes before joining The Schaffner building team in the summer of 2004. Brett became a partner with Schaffner Signature Homes in 2010. Brett is involved in the construction process from the beginning of home design to the final home orientation with the new homeowners. Brett works directly with Gary in all home building field operations before and after the sale. Brett takes great pride in building every home, and as Gary has always said “never missing a closing date” Brett enjoys working with all subs, suppliers and homeowners. Brett has received numerous cards and letters from homeowners expressing their wonderful experiences.
